| The musician: In the age of 7 Daniel Ackermann had his first music lessons. First he focussed the piano, but with 9 years he started with the trumpet. Already during his school-years he was enlisted in 1994 at the Peter-Cornelius-Konservatorium in Mainz and tutored from Prof. Malte Burba. Even before Ackermann became a regular student in Mainz, he was member in the European Youth Symphonic Wind Orchestra and took part in their tour through Europe in 1996 and 1998. During this time he also had his first solo concerts in chamber music together with organ as well as with piano. In 1999 he followed the invitation to a Villa-Musica course (with Thomas Brandis, former concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker) and to the Landes-Jugend-Ensemble für Neue Musik Rheinland-Pfalz under direction of Bernhard Kontarsky In this year Daniel Ackermann also changed to the National University for Music in Cologne. Here he studied with Mathias Kiefer (Solotrumpet Gürzenich Orchestra) and Friedemar Immer (Baroque Trumpet) before he successfully finished his studies in 2004 with Prof. Urban Agnas. In 2005/2006 he completed his education at Conservatoire de Musique Luxembourg under direction of Prof. Roman Zaremba. Since 2000 Ackermann plays amongst others at the Theatre in Trier, the Orchesteracademy Nordrhein-Westfalen-, the L'Orchestre des Jeunes de la Grande Region, the Klassische Philharmonie Bonn, the Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz as well as at the Opera Cologne and the Deutsche Bläserphilharmonie. In 2006 he became scholarship holder of the Richard-Wagner-Federation. He is a member of the Bläser-Philharmonie-West. Since 2002-2008 he took part in a master classes with Prof. Klaus Schuwerk (MHS Frankfurt), Prof. James Thompson (Eastman School of Music, New York), Prof. Jens Lindemann (University of California), Gabor Tarkövi (Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra) and Michael Sachs (Cleveland Orchestra). He also studied with Prof. Reinhold Friedrich in Karlsruhe, Prof. Mathias Höfs in Hamburg and Manfred Bockschweiger (Theatre Darmstadt). In 2003/04 Daniel Ackermann played as solo artist with Sinfonietta Mainz, the City Orchestra Mayen and the Kammerorchester Limburgerhof. In January 2005 a solo concert tour with the Dvorak-Sinfonia-Orchestra Prag followed. Already during schooldays Ackermann encountered Swing-, Jazz- & Soul-Music. In 1997/98 he played amongst others in galas with Thomas Anders and had regularly gigs with Django-Reinhard & Band, Sahne-Mixx, Bärenspiel,etc.. From classic over Jazz to Modern Music - he made several tours with successful concerts in Europe and USA. The Teacher Daniel Ackermann started to teach children and youths very early and completed his pedagogic skills with his music pedagogic studies. At present he works as a teacher at the music school Klangwerk in Neuwied. Here he gives lessons in trumpet, (tenor) horn as well as didgeridoo and some of his students already won prizes in the Youth makes music-contest. Additionally he has a university teaching position for trumpet at the University Koblenz. Daniel Ackermann teaches amongst others the method of Prof. Malte Burba and is licensed Burba®BrassTeacher and member in the Burba®BrassNetwork. |
